Barrenjoey Lighthouse & Palm Beach

The beach and great coffee isn’t likely to make anyone’s ‘iconic duo’ list anytime soon, but believe you me when I say it should, especially if you take the time to head over to Palm Beach and enjoy the delightful sights and sounds of one of the nicest beaches Sydney has to offer. Even better, for those of you who enjoy a bit of a morning hike, the stunning Barrenjoey Lighthouse is ready and waiting for you.

First things first, however, you need to head to one of the plethora of cafes nearby to pick up your favourite caffeinated beverage to help wake and warm you up. Some of the standouts in the area include The Boathouse and The Greedy Goat (The name did play a part in me stopping here). After collecting the beautiful nectar of the gods that is your coffee, it’s a short drive to the beach which stretches a long way meaning you can always find a section without too many people around. Personally, I am a fan of heading towards the most northern section of the beach as this is the headland where the Lighthouse is situated. 

Grab a seat, relax, and take in the refreshing feeling of the ocean breeze while you sip your coffee and let all of your troubles slip away.
